1. What did you do this past year that you have never done before?

Honestly? I don't think I did anything that I've never done before in 2023. :)

2. Did you keep your new years resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I don't tend to make New Years resolutions. Mainly because I have difficulty keeping them due to my life being as hectic as it is.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Do I count as someone close to me? If so, yes! I gave birth to a baby girl in October! <3

4. Did anyone close to you die?

I mean I guess technically speaking, yes. My husband's uncle passed unexpectedly in very early 2023.

5. What new states or countries did you visit. If not new did you travel for fun?

I didn't really travel at all in 2023. I went back to my hometown twice to visit family, but that's all I was down there for.

6. What would you like to have in the new year that you lacked in this past year?

A better paying job and a place of our own! Hubby and I currently live with his parents while we're trying to search for some place for us, our two kids, and our cat Jubilee.

7. What dates from this year remain etched in your mind and why?

October 2nd because that's the day I had my baby girl <3

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Obviously becoming a mother for the second time was a pretty big achievement. But nothing really big happened this year.

9. What was your biggest failure?

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

I mean given that I was pregnant for most of 2023, yes. Yes I did.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

The DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet I guess? lmao

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

Behavior? uh.... I don't really know.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled?

14. Where did most of your money go?

My kids and medical bills. Oof.

15. What did you get really excited about?

Dungeons and Dragons like every week. That, and obviously that thing I've been talking about this whole entry... y'know... having another kid.

16. What do you wish you’d done more of?

Get out of the house! I felt stuck inside a lot.

17. What do you wish you’d done less of?

Sometimes, I'd say the answer to this is "work". However, I'd like to argue that I wish I'd spent less time in the NICU. Was not a fun place to be but my baby girl needed to be there for at least the first week of her life (and thankfully not longer).

18. How did you spend Valentine's?

I worked for the first half of Valentine's. The rest of it was spent at home with the hubby and our son. I didn't know I was pregnant at the time and wasn't feeling that great, so us going anywhere was out of the question.

19. How did you Spend Easter?

I spent it with my hubby, son, and hubby's family. We knew at this time that we were expecting, but I don't remember at this time if I knew I was having a girl. I think I honestly might have known by then because I strictly remember talking about how I was going to have to go dress shopping for a little girl come next Easter.

20. How did you spend the 4th of July?

I honestly think I just spent it indoors. Allergies are killer for me around that time. Not that I wanted to stay inside, obviously.

21. How did you spend Halloween?

My gods it was FREEZING cold on Halloween here in the Midwestern US. I tried to take my 2 year old son and ~4 week old daughter (at the time) out to do "Beggar's Night" (what we call Trick or Treating in this state), but we didn't stay out for long because it was beyond frigid.

22. How did you spend Thanksgiving?

I was asked if I was going to go back to my home state for Thanksgiving (given that I was still on maternity leave until after it), but I couldn't plan it well enough to work. So, we had dinner at a restaurant with hubby's family and then a dinner that Sunday with more of his family. The little one slept through both dinners and didn't get to really officially meet her paternal great grandma.

23. How did you spend Christmas?

Spent Christmas Eve with hubby's family. Opened all of our presents here and then left on the ~4 hour drive back to my home state to visit my family on the 25th and 26th. My daughter got to meet both her great grandmas, her many great aunts and great uncles, her uncle (my brother), her aunt (my sister), and her grandpa (my dad). She unfortunately will never get to meet her grandma (my mom) because she passed in 2012.

24. What was your favorite TV program?

Oh good lord there were too many of them to remember. If we're explicitly talking about what all aired in 2023, The Owl House had to be my favorite! Yes, I know the series started in like 2020. But the finale was in 2023 so I count it! :)

25. Did you make any enemies this year?

I sure as hell hope not? I don't think I got on anyone's bad side.

26. Did you read any new books. If so which did you like best?

Man I wish I had time to read still. Most of the time, I'm at work. Then I come home to take care of the kids and fall asleep usually as soon as both of them are out.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Actually happens to be the song I'm listening to right now. It's called Ares and it's by Winters Island. It's really good and I recommend giving it a listen.

28. What did you want and get?

Tickets to the Fall Out Boy concert that is going to be in our state in April. My mother in law got them for me and hubby as a Christmas present. I'm so excited.

29. What did you want and not get?

A raise- lmao I was due for one in September and my boss didn't submit the necessary shit for it until December, so I won't get one for a paycheck or two.

30. Did you see any new movies this year? And if so which did you like best?

I got to see the Dungeons and Dragons movie with hubby, sister in law, and mother in law. I really liked it and I hope they make another one!

31. What did you do on your birthday?

Given that I was like... a month out from giving birth? I didn't really do much. I worked on my birthday this year, but I did bring cupcakes for everyone because god dammit I wanted cupcakes lol

32. What is one thing that would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Not having to be pregnant the entire year. JK JK I love my kids. tbh I think this year would have been better had the weather not been so god damn bipolar. But that's just typical Midwestern weather for you.

33. Did you meet anyone new you became good friends with?

A coworker actually! We became friends and learned that both of us actually participate in Art Fight (which was an awesome discovery)!

34. What video game obsessions did you have this year if any?

Pokémon! It's ALWAYS Pokémon. Gen V remakes GameFreak please.

35. Was your online time good, bad , same compared to last year?

Same as last year tbh, but a little less time was spent online as I now have more duties to take care of at home.

36. What hobbies did you improve, start or work more on this year? Basically how was your creativity this year?

Good lord my creativity was awful. I had art block for the entirety of Art Fight (sobs). I think the most creativity I've had was concerning our RWBY D&D campaign lol

37. Which holiday did you enjoy most this year?

Probably either Christmas or Halloween. But that's the same answer I'd give any other year lmao
